The international symposium

The international symposium "Bauhaus in/and the Baltics" is dedicated to the opening of the exhibition "vladas švipas: pušalotas > bauhaus > kaunas > new york", and the legacy of the Bauhaus in the Baltic States.

> > Dr. Marija Drėmaitė (Vilnius University), curator of the exhibition will present architect Vladas Švipas. 

> > Dr. Anke Blümm, Coordinator of the Research Group "Religion and Urbanity" at Max Weber Centre, Erfurt will give a talk titled "A Sacred Place". Six Yiddish Bauhaus students from Vilne, Wilno, Wilna, Vilnius".

> > Dr. Julia Secklehner from Masaryk University in Brno and the Estonian Academy of Arts will share her research "Between the Bauhaus and the Baltics: myths of modernism and Ida Kerkovius as a textile artist". 

The presentations will be followed by a roundtable discussion, moderated by Gabrielė Radzevičiūtė, curator at the National Gallery of Art in Vilnius.

Participation is open to all and free of charge.
The symposium will be held in English.

The symposium will take place at the NDG auditorium on 9 October, Friday, from 3:00 to 4.30 p.m., The opening of the exhibition will start at 5.00 p.m.
