INTERDISCIPLINARY WORKSHOP
October 9, 10:00-17:30 Initiated by researchers from Vilnius
University and Ca'Foscari University of Venice, the workshop
"Patchy Anthropocene and Speculative Archaeology" invites
participants to discuss the different ways in which contemporary
artistic practices engage with the effects of the Anthropocene.
Combining diverse theoretical approaches with references to the
contemporary art world, the workshop reconstructs a speculative
archaeology of the past and also suggests imaginary scenarios of
the future. Referring to various contemporary art practices,
including the works of Eglė Budvytytė, representing Lithuania at
the Biennale, the workshop suggests new speculative aesthetics and
imaginary futurity in the post-Anthropocene world.
