Budvytytė, Silvia Giambrone, Kristina Inčiūraitė, Rita Mandolini,
Anna Raimondo
AlbumArte and Lithuanian art scene have exchanged their energies
several times realizing very
interesting and quality projects, hosting for the first time in
Italy in different moments, three Lithuanian artists: Lina
Lapelytė, in 2017, with her live performance "Yes. Really!"
(Italian premiere), also in 2017 Eglė Budvytytė with her first solo
exhibition in Italy "Tra ciglia e pensiero" and the traveling
performance starting at MAXXI - Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI
secolo in Rome, "Choreography for the Running Male". In 2019
Kristina Inčiūraitė with her first solo exhibition in Italy
"Reflecting Women" and the performance realized at MAXXI, in
collaboration with Latitudo Art Projects "The Fragment as a
Proverb". All these projects have been curated by Benedetta Carpi
de Resmini. Lolita Jablonskienė - Chief curator, National Gallery
of Art of Vilnius and the artist Laima Kreivytė participated in the
debates realized on the occasion of the exhibitions. AlbumArte had
very good relations with Lithuanian Council for Culture, Lithuanian
Culture Institute, Lithuanian Embassy in Italy and its Cultural
Department.
The artistic duo Grossi Maglioni, featured in the volume and who
will take part in the event in the Lithuanian stage, will present
in those days a work at the exhibition Magic Carpets Landed, one of
the main events of Kaunas 2022 European Capital of Culture and in
the following days will hold a two-day workshop in Kaunas, part of
the Public Program of the project.
The National Gallery of Art in Vilnius is the Cultural Partner of
the publishing project "ALL BOOM ARTE. Italian Artists at AlbumArte
2011-2020".
AlbumArte is an independent and non-profit space based in Rome
that is characterized by its international collaborations and its
cycles of investigation on the various languages of contemporary
art, offering to the public a free program of projects that cover
the various methods of art, such as painting, photography,
performance, video art and sculpture, by young or emerging artists
and curators, through paths independent from commercial
constraints, while carrying out a program of debates and
comparisons on major issues of culture, art and contemporary
society. Active since 2011, this year celebrates ten years of
activity.
The volume "ALL BOOM ARTE. Italian Artists at AlbumArte 2011 -
2020" wants to tell the Italian and international public not only
the archive of the work done in the field of contemporary art, but
also the presence of a group of artists and curators who actively
participate in the program of exhibitions and insights, feeding the
sharing and the energy of a non-profit center of independent
cultural and artistic production, which has become over time a
vital and inclusive platform.
A part of the volume is dedicated to 18 unpublished conversations
between the artists and the curators of AlbumArte. The book (484
pages in both Italian and English) is completed by five other
sections that illustrate the context of AlbumArte's research from
2011 to 2020: "Anteprima", a program of residencies, video reviews
and talks with Italian artists abroad; "AlbumArte | VideoArtForum",
an ongoing project of international video art; the chapter
dedicated to performances; the project "Donne (non più) anonime" -
confronto sul femminicidio, a series of debates on the theme of
violence against women; and the chapter that talks about all the
exhibitions realized with Italian artists.
The cultural partners of the project: MAXXI - National Museum of XXI Century Arts, Rome; Roma Capitale. Assessorato alla Crescita Culturale / Azienda Speciale Palaexpo, Rome; National Gallery of Art, Vilnius; Art House, Shkodër; Bn Project, Brussels; Dimora OZ, Palermo; Golden Thread Gallery, Belfast; LE 18, Marrakech; PILOT, Bratislava.
